BABY BALLERINAS

Children’s dance education can begin as early as the age of two, when they have the motor skills to participate in dance class. Each child grows at their own pace – some are more physical while others are more verbal. Our Baby Ballerina Program is 45 minutes in length and meets once a week. Each class begins with Ballet taught in the French Method for Posture and Natural Turn-out, Tap for Rhythm & Musical Timing, and Gymnastic Tumbling for flexibility and strength to improve balance and co-ordination. This first introduction to the art of dance should be a wondrous time in your child’s life. This may be their first experience in a class type setting – therefore, patiently waiting their turn to tumble down the mat, learning to play well with others, and separating from Mom & Dad to participate in dance class will prove to be valuable life lessons. We hope that each and every Baby Ballerina loves their dance experience and wants to come back to the studio time and time again!

 

PRIMA PRESCHOOLERS

Our Prima Preschool Program has proven successful for over fifty years! Today’s nationally ranked dancers started with the exact same curriculum your children will study. Preschool students are like sponges, eager to learn. However, bad habits can easily form during those first few years of dancing school. A proper dance education using correct terminology is most important in the formative years. Prima Preschool Classes are 60 to 75 minutes in length and meet once weekly. Many children learn by repetition, therefore you may enroll in this program twice weekly on the fast track. Each class begins with Ballet taught in the French Method for Posture, Body Alignment, and flat Turn-out, Tap for Rhythm & Musical Timing, Jazz Basics to differentiate between hopping, jumping, & leaping and Gymnastic Tumbling for flexibility and strength to improve balance and co-ordination.

 

RECREATION CLASSES

We offer classes for all ages, sizes, and ability levels, The Abby Lee Dance Compay makes every child feel comfortable in their environment. 
 It is our belief that every child should dance because… 
Formal Classes in Ballet will help your posture, body alignment and coordination. 
Jazz is Fun! You are free to put your own spirit into each and every movement. 
Get up off the sofa and dance with us – a class once a week will make you more flexible and fit!
Acrobatics & Tumbling is important to learn safely and with a good spot. 
Tap is cool! Lots of guys take this class – from Gene Kelly to Savion Glover you will learn to make some noise! 
Hip Hop is HOT! It’s not just a fad anymore but, a whole society… 
don’t be the one standing in the corner, be the “it girl” at your next school dance!

 

MINIS AGE 6,7,8

Our Mighty Minis take 30 minute classes in Ballet taught in the French Method, Tap for Rhythm and Musicality, Jazz Jumps & Turns, Acro/ Gym for strength and flexibility!

Hip Hop – 30 to 45 minutes may be added for those students interested.

 

JUNIORS 9,10, 11

Our Jiving Juniors may pick and choose any genre they find interesting! A minimum of two classes per day is required.

ADULT CLASSES

From time to time we offer Adult Classes or Adult Courses.

Adult Classes or Courses are for a set number of weeks. These classes are informative and fun. The objective is to get up, get out, and get going – whether you are increasing your flexibility and conditioning your body in an Adult Fitness Class or you want to learn the hot new fad dance steps in an Adult Hip Hop Class. For your privacy, Adult Classes are often held in the mornings or later in the evening when their aren’t so many people in the studio.

 

ADVANCED/ COMPANY/ TEAM CLASSES

Advanced Classes and ALDC Competition Team Classes are often longer in length and are scheduled to work in conjuction with your other classes. Any dancer who meets the criteria may enroll in an Advanced Class or Team Class without becoming a member of the team. However, these classes are instructed with a much more serious concentrated vibe and our instructors are much more demanding of their advanced/ team students.
